Directors Recruitment

Are you passionate about women and children rights? Women’s Aid Groups in the Highlands are seeking to recruit women with the skills, knowledge and experience to contribute to their board of directors. You do not need to know everything there is to know about domestic abuse but we do need to know that you are reliable and committed to our ethos and values. The board of directors play a critical role in ensuring the strategic development of the organisation and making sure it is accountable for the services it provides to vulnerable women and their children. As a Director, you will be required to contribute to the governance of the organisation including attending board meetings and the AGM. You may be asked to undertake other duties such as representing the organisation at external events; or assisting with fundraising, networking or influencing work. In return you will receive all reasonable expenses, a comprehensive training and support programme and the knowledge that you have helped to make some women, children and young people in Highland a little bit safer and more secure. We seek a diverse range of people with a commitment to the work we do. Women’s Aid welcomes applications from women who have previously utilised women’s aid services or who have been subject to domestic abuse. We can only accept applications from women under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010. The successful candidates will be subject to PVG checks If you would like more information on this or to apply then please contact Claire on 01349 862689 or email info@rosswa.co.uk
